How we use our Papier wellness hour

One hour, once a week, to welcome some wellbeing into our routine.

How we use our Papier wellness hour

In the world of work, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and forget to take care of yourself. At Papier, we encourage all our paper people to take a wellness hour once a week. This means we get 60 minutes to log off and take a little time for ourselves. How you spend your hour is up to you – you can do whatever you like to feel balanced and well. Some people love the endorphins from a midday exercise class, while others like to wind down with some yoga or a stroll in the fresh air. It’s an opportunity to catch up on life admin, read an extra chapter of your book or just have a nice rest. Here’s how some of the team make the most of their wellness hour.

Felicity, People Director
“I often use my wellness hour to fit in a longer walk at the beginning of my day, so that I also have time when I come in to make a nice cup of coffee without having to rush. At the moment it's great being able to walk until 10.00am and get over an hour in the daylight while it's a shorter day.

Once or twice I've also recently used my wellness hour to prep a meal and get it in the slow cooker during the afternoon, so it's ready in the evening. Cooking is good for my mental health because it seems to use a different part of my brain, and it's very relaxing - with the added benefit of having a home-cooked meal ready at the end of the day!”

Nikita, Conversion Optimisation Manager
“When the weather allows, I use my wellness hour first thing in the morning to head out cycling in the nearby Surrey Hills. Exercise is my go-to stress cure and cycling in nature allows me to clear my mind, no matter what time of year.”

Roopal, Head of Strategy & Planning
“I love that we get wellness hours at Papier. It's a great way to reclaim a part of the working day - to either slow down, reflect and recharge, or just get something done for yourself. I usually spend my wellness hour brewing a fresh coffee and journaling, or going for a long walk with my brother, or finishing up an hour earlier on a Friday to see friends.”

Callum, Trading Associate
“I normally take my wellness hour to go for a walk (into the city or around a park). This really helps me take time to relax for an hour and sometimes listen to a podcast. It's nice to have the hour to do this, because you never feel too busy to take a bit of time for yourself and recharge!”

If you’d like to make time for some wellbeing in your week, our wellness journals can help you prioritise what’s important and plan your time accordingly.
